This semester has been mostly about painting painting and more painting. Makes me feel like a fine artist and shit. Seriously though painting is by far one of the most important things to learn and always follow. Digital is good and all, but never quite as fulfilling as painting a good cup. sounds funny, but true. Anyways these are homework's and 1 in class. hopes you likes. all under 2 hours by rule.

I decided to go with the color of this robote out of all 4.

These are all pieces done after side tracking from h.w. and also with the purpose of learning and exploring different territories in design and environment. It's all relative. I'm also thinking of turning the snow girl into a short graphic novel story. We'll see later on.

All of these paintings are done under 1 or 2 hr's. The purpose of this class is to learn how to make good decisions and solve problems in your painting before you commit to a complete larger painting. The other purpose of my quick studies class is to learn how to use big brushes, and how to make better decisions with the possibility of various brush strokes. Hope you guys enjoy!

This summer my wife and i went back to her home Taiwan.It was a loving experience to be surrounded by such an amazing culture, and wonderful family. This sketch book was my document of this great 1 month and a half journey. Hope you enjoy and sorry for not posting in a while. lol

Done in the saturday workshops with friends and awesome artist. The theme for this one was something like( Strange colored creature writes) 2 hr session is very challenging when you only have 5 minutes to prepare your reference and concept. FUN!

These landscapes where done in Miami florida. I painted these next to my little brother whom is also an amazing artist. These hold sentimental value to me given that i don't get to see him very often. When i got back to San Francisco i looked at these little paintings and

imagined these characters living in the world where the watercolor landscape came from. Mostly because the resulting look of the landscapes felt more other worldly to me. Anyways it was a good exercise for concept development.

It's been painfully fun learning how to paint a little better, hopefully this semester. In both of these paintings there is a very different approach in technique. I emotionally lean more toward the technique in the bottom piece, but i strive to become better at refinement like the one on top. On a personal level these two paintings are a poem for my wife. In general workshops are pretty quick in hours, but it is no excuse not to have good refinement. I still need to dedicate soo much time to understanding and getting down better refinement. I'm on my way though.

This was a study of planes. Keeping the shapes simple and trying to give the form roundness. I find these exercise very helpful for more complete paintings.

My wife and i are getting re-married in Taiwan over the summer. So she had me design a wedding invitation, and it was fun. Yeah!

This is a very small oil study of plaines. It was a great exercise for value, brush stroke, and form.

So this semester i have to complete 400 heads and 100 hands for class. I started over the break by doing alot from films when i would pause them. There was really no break over the break.lol So here are some inked, and some done with my markers. I LOOOOVE markers so much. Working on my own technique with them. ENJOY!

Digital piece that deals with a malfunctioning robot that needs to be fixed ASAP. I still need to do a few touch up on this piece, but this is it for now.

The man and dog are fully inked. Some small areas are photoshopped in the foreground. This is a runaway story that i will develop later on. Enjoy!
